I have yet to own a Busse, but want one dearly. Actually I want a few dearly.... However, I have a few questions on the models I'm looking at. The models I want are
The sus scrofa
The war boar
The pork belly skinner
(SNIP) for those that have these, how do you like them? Thanks, BK.

BK46, unfortunately I had to remove the value part of question due to forum rules created by SPark.

THe blades you requested have pros and cons which I will be glad to help you with as will others, and as long as no values are mentioned the thread will continue. Mention values and it will be locked. Thanks for your understanding and welcome to the forums:thumbup:

The scrofa is a much underated and under appreciated blade. I like it and it has huge cutting potential. Fairly easy to find. Fairly similar with a lot more practical use than- THe war boar is just menacing but is a very specific fighting tool with not much other application available. Its extremely hard to find in most cases. THe pork belly skinner is loved by ogre:) Its a nice skinner and also seldom seen :)

Good luck in your hunt for some fine blades, and welcome to the Busse Forum:cool:

Realistically I want the sus scrofa. The others are icing on the cake if I can get them. To me, the sus scrofa looks like it has some potential as a hunting and camp knife, especially when dressing out a kill.

The Scrofa should be easy to find.
upgrade to a paying membership (it helps the site too :) ) and you can do a wanted to buy and I am sure a couple folks will sell you one :)

I modified a SS a few years ago and made it a bull nose that works great for a lot of things.

sus scrofa is a very useful knife! Good luck in your search! :)

Yes indeed. Its about .17" so its fairly thin by Busse standards. It works well with blunt nose for field dressing. THe tip works well and is exact when drawing the knife. THe relatively low blade height allows you to cut around and in between ball joints etc when quartering. There have been some nice mods done to this blade. I have one here and I really like it. I took it to blade a year or so ago but no one really ohhed and ahwwed over it.. Oh well:D

I do know if attacked, cause I would never attack another, the sus scrofa seems to me a very useful defense tool. It cuts it if it strikes it and wont bounce/ glance off boxes, or deer -examples Ive tried in use. It cuts it.

THe negative to some maybe sharpening. Its easier for me to use a steel in past, but recently put in on my edgepro. I got a superfine edge, and as a result finally learned how to put a relief edge on cause it really needed it. Razor sharp but highly ineffetive on cutting paper from center to rear of blade til I put a 2nd bevel. The tip was and still is an exacto knife so to speak. Now the end result is far better than I started but I messed up the sides a little due to angles etc. Now, its a user and just looks a little meaner now but thats ok:cool:

WE need pics to enjoy. Heres some old ones and I dont have em anymore so please dont ask.

Keep focused . We are discussing the blades-Not exchange or economics

Here's another question: how would a sus scrofa fair against an entrek javelina? I have an 11 bravo that has been more than superb, hence the question.

Actually he can post a WTB even now. He just can't view any post there except his own.

I thought there was a Sus Scrofa on the Sale forum just the other day?
