Looking for my perfect EDC knife

I'm looking for a new edc knife, for light/moderate use. I have both a Delica Wave 4, and an Endura FFG, and like them both, but want something that's a good middle ground size wise between the two. It needs to be able to be opened and closed easily with one hand. I'm open to all types of locking mechs, but want to steer away from back locks with this knife.

I would prefer steel as good or better than VG10, but I will consider others, too. I'm not great with my sharp maker, but I can put a decent edge on the two knives I've got right now If I'm patient.

I've looked around a bit and think I'd be pretty happy with a Paramilitary 2, but don't want to pay the eBay premium right now since they are back ordered. I'd like to keep the price not much more than $100 if possible, but ill justify what I need to spend to get the knife I really want.

I'd like to get a knife with either g10 scales or something like it; no slick metal scales.

If you have any input I'd sure like to hear it!

Thanks in advance,

James

The strech 2 in either vg1o or zdp 189 fits between the endura and delica. so does the Griptilian, the crkt ripple, and the buck vantage has a variety of steels and handle scales. or if you can find one an OD-1 is awesome. you might want to try a largish traditional in carbon steel.

Under $100, between 3-3.75" blade, no backlock, G10/grippy handles, good steel...

Kershaw S30V Blur - 3.5" S30V blade, liner lock, aluminum handles w/ trac-tec inserts (very grippy)
ZT 0350 (blem) - 3.5" S30V blade, liner lock, G10 handles
Kershaw G10 Leek - 3" S30V blade, liner lock, G10 handles
Benchmade 707 - 3" 154CM blade, Axis lock, aluminum handles w/ G10 inserts
Buck Large Vantage Pro - 3.25" S30V blade, liner lock, G10 handles
Spyderco Manix2 - 3.25" S30V blade, ball-bearing lock, G10 handles

^^^Sage 1 is a good choice although I think the Sage 2 is out of the OP's price range.

I think flarp has some great suggestions. Sage 1 and Manix 2 are great choices as well. But if you would like to try a Para 2 like you mentioned, you can always look around the forum here and find one fairly easily. I know some sprint runs go for a lot, as well as some "new in box" production Para 2's, but you can usually find some user Para's on the cheaper side here. Now, condition might not be great depending on the knife you get, but if you look around for a bit, you can grab a fairly nice one for a good price.

I myself picked up a user para 2 very recently here for about 80 bucks so I can beat up on it at work without having to worry about it. In my opinion, you can't really go wrong with the para. Good luck with your choice!

I highly recommend the PM2 as well! It's just a perfect knife. If you have the time and patience, scan the exchange here as often as possible, and you'll find one. I see them here almost every day. You won't be disappointed. As mentioned, the Sage is a good one too, I have one. Very slim and light, and easy to sharpen.
