Looking for neck lanyard & mini-carabiner

I could use a good breakaway neck lanyard to wear under my shirt. It would carry a small whistle, thermometer/compass, a Photon II MicroLight, and maybe a Spyderco Dragonfly.

I'm also looking for a good mini-carabiner keyring device to attach a Photon II to my Spyderco Cricket. My splitrings aren't working very well.

Any suggestions, advice, or recommendations would be appreciated.

I would like to find a good mini-biner myself. All the small ones at Hardware store for keychain use fall apart within hours of purchase. I think Campmor sells some -- anyone had any experience with theirs?

Thanks!
Clay

I'd swear there was thread on this topic within the past year. Of course I can't find it!

I've bought some from Campmor--they are thin and maybe a little over an inch long, with a screw-type barrell-clasp, not the spring hinge I've seen on larger ones. EMS also sells a decent one, but it's about $4, similiar to what I've described above. Both can be dented or broken somewhat easily.

Breakaway lanyards are a little harder to find...I got a great one from Pelican at a police equipment show attached to a flashlight, and ironically I just saw some at a pet store, designed as collars for cats and dogs.

Campmor lists this one:

for $10.99, from Suunto. May be the Sebenza of lanyards

Best,

John

Thanks, John. I need one that is thin but I really want the spring hinge too. I've bought several of the others from EMS that work fine for most things, but their clearance isn't large enough to fit the lanyard holes on my Spyderco folders.

Cardimon,

try this item at Campmor--from the catalog it may do the trick for you:
