Looking for new watch, no idea which

Like the title says, I'm looking for a new watch, since my $10 target one is rusting. And I've decided to try to look for a decent watch, under $100. Preferably digital, but analog works too. Also, titanium would be a bonus, although at this price point, I'm pretty sure that one will be hard. And most importantly, it needs to be fancy without being too fancy. Like not one of those entirely steel ones, since I'm still a student, and I think it'd look a bit weird to be wearing that around, or while hiking, backpacking... I'm looking for a watch that'll look good whether I'm in the outdoors, or at some formal places. Thanks for your help!

Bertucci make Ti quartz field watches for around $80 and in several styles and colors. I had one as a daily wear for 2 years before I upgraded to an automatic, however I gave it to a good friend and he continues to wear it. They are designed for outdoors use and rated to 100 meters of water resistance. I found mine to be quite comfortable and very light.

The only things I didn't like are that the glow-in-the-dark isn't great and after a few months of absorbing sweat the nylon band would smell like BO but a run in the clothes washer fixed that.

The Timex expedition watches are pretty good, very affordable too. "Takes a lickin and keeps on tickin"

I get four years out of a Timex Expedition. I wear it 24/7 including dives in salt water and chlorine pools, running jackhammers and swinging sledge hammers. I wear it in the shower and while canoing. They have the "Indiglo" feature that lets me check the time in the dark with minimum battery usage. Best bang for the buck I have ever found in a watch.

The G-Shocks look so.. complicated and robotic though... guess I'm just not a fan of those? I think I might actually go with an analog.. just something for time... but does an analog have an alarm? Since it's the only function, other than time, that I actually use.

Hmm complicated and robotic? Maybe some models, but they have many that are simple and easy to read.

Can't really beat a G-shock... They do everything a digital watch should, and have years of durability.

I have the Gshock Street rider, both analog and digital. Can be simple, has features of digital including alarm. Tough as nails.

Thanks for all your suggestions, but I ultimately went with a Timex Expedition. I walked into sports authority, intending to buy a g-shock, but there was an expedition for $15, and I couldn't pass that one up. But my next one will definitely be a gshock of sorts. I really like the looks of the street rider too, sleek, and yet fancy.

One problem... the alarm doesn't go off. It's the T4972 model, and when I set the alarm, it won't go off for some reason. Help?

for the next G- I love my GW500A, wear it quite often, and the MTG-900 is a good one in your price range also. I can't help you with your Timex, as I don't have one. maybe you could try shooting Timex an email?

Good buy on the Timex Expedition. I've had one for a couple of years. I stopped wearing it because it was very loud. TICK..TICK..TICK...
Got a Seiko Mechanical Sport5 about a year ago - very nice, quiet sweeping second hand.
