At www.alpharubicon.com/prepinfo/pocketkitbulldog.htm the writer describes and shows his PSK based on a stainless box with a rubber gasket locking lid. The box he mentions was made by Olicamp. I have done some extensive websearching, and while I can find some items from this company(messkits, cookware, etc.) I can't find this particular box. I've also tried Ebay. It seems like it would be perfect for such a kit. I can't find a specific website for Olicamp either. Any ideas where I can get this box or one very similar or an Olicamp website ?

I like the clear OtterBox myself. being able to see things, makes at least me, less likely to fumble around in a panic and drop some small necessary item, ESPECIALLY in the dark (been there, done that - Struggled to open a positive locking clasp, pulled up too hard and dumped the contents, later realized that the item wasnt even in there ARGH).

I'll add my vote to the Pelican cases, I have the #1060 Micro Case and it holds everything I need. I drove over it with my Dakota truck and a TJ and all I did was get the case dirty.

Mith,

Be glad you couldn't find that particular box. I have a couple of them I bought 15-20 years ago. They certainly do NOT lock closed. They will hold the gasketed lid tight to the box as long as nothing disturbs the box. It's very easy, though, to bump the latches open. It you're not planning to use rubber bands or tape to hold it together, look for something else.

Thanks for the input guys. I already have several otterboxes, but I guess its the luddite in me that puts more faith(real or perceived) in steel. Bucky; I usually cruise D. Ritter's site weekly, but haven't for the last couple. Thanks for the update on his PSK. I had seen one at REI, but didn't associate it with him. I have to go back and buy one. Excellent knife available from Equipped; I have one on order.

Mith.
