Does anybody remember a Sebenza review in a knife magazine back in the early or mid 90's? It was likely either Blade or Tactical knives. I remember being a young teenager and buying that magazine and drooling over the Sebenza review. At the time the cost seemed so extreme I would never be able to afford one. Now of course I couldn't imagine carrying anything else then my small Sebenza. I would love to get a loot at that old review again just for fun. Anyone remember that???

Yep, Dozier straight personal.

Thanks for the links, I've never seen those two reviews before and enjoyed them both. Not the one I was looking for, but still cool. I'm thinking the one I have in mind has to be sometime around 1993-1996 or so. I wouldn't be surprised if nobody else remembers it but I thought I would check.

Thanks again!

Is this the one you are looking for?
Blade magazine, April/May 1993, page 10. I have this copy.

Awesome, I think that is the one!!! I would have been 13 then and would always go on weekend camping trip with my parents (camper camping...not real camping). Before we left town we would go to the grocery store where I was allowed to pick any magazine I wanted for reading material on the trip. It was almost always a knife magazine. I still remember reading about the Sebenza then and knowing that I wanted one but $265 seemed like a fortune to a 13 year old and I couldn't imagine every actually getting one. Of course now I've had plenty of them, but the appeal certainly hasn't worn off.

Thank you very much for the picture of the article, I really appreciate getting to look at it again!!!

Hey! that's the article that made me decide to get a Sebenza back then. I ordered it from CRK and dealt with Anne I think. It was ATS34 steel. I also got one of the first small SEbenza when they started making them. It was number 87 or 93. I went thru a bad divorce in 94 and had to sell a lot of my knives and the two Sebenzas were sold. Damn !
