Looking for OS X 10.4 for iMAC

Hi,

Well, this is not knife related...

I decided to upgrade my software from OS X 10.2.8 and discovered my computer will not work well with 10.5. The 10.4 software is no longer handled by Apple and the only place I have found it is on Amazon for $279 new.

Does anyone have ideas of where I could get this new?

Could I use Linux instead? I don't want to develop software, just use something like OS X.

Otherwise, eBay has 10.4 around $80-100 if you want to go that way. Personally I'd be wary of purchasing expensive software through eBay because its hard to guarentee that it's never been used or that you're not getting a ripoff.
