Looking for pivot for my knives

Hi

Do they sell pivot parts by size and length instead of by brands? I am looking for 0.2" diameter and specific length, anyone know any place selling pivot parts like that?

Thanks

Hey Alan, welcome to BF, and to MTE.

I think you’ll find it much easier to source pivot pins in rod form. 12” is a common length, and you’ll clip or sever off how much you need plus a little, and install them long on each side. Then you’ll grind/file/sand/polish them flush with the bolsters.

Trying to fit an exact pin length seems to me like a recipe for frustration, and an opportunity to wallow out the bolster holes. YMMV.

Do you mean like this one and buy two screws?

Sorry, I thought you were talking about a traditional slip joint where the pivot is a pin.

McMaster Carr probably has threaded bushings that you can grind or file to length, but I’ve never done that.
