looking for review on sog x-ray vision

Not to hijack your thread, but can you still find those anywhere? I always wanted one....

This won't be much of a review, but for what it's worth...

This was my first $100 folder- love at first sight! Pointy tanto blade, partially serated, ARC lock, looked mean, and I thought at the time, really useful. My EDC at the time was a Delica.

Found out very quickly that a tanto is not all that useful a blade shape. I still like the ARC lock even more than my Axis locks (doesn't bounce) and I thought I at least had a good "heavy duty" folder if I needed it. Then I read one of Cliff Stamp's reviews and saw how flimsy the handle/attachment was. You really can flex the scales with two fingers.

Still a great looking knife and it taught me a lot about what to look for (and avoid) when buying a knife. Hope this helps!

I own the mini version of this knife that I bought a few years ago before I knew too much about knives. Sog does not have the best rep on these forums and I have not bought one of their knives since, but I will say it has been a very good knife. Before going any further I will say that I dont buy serrated or tanto knives, but bought this one before I knew anything. It really is a good knife. It does not have the bladeplay that many complain about on a lot of sog knives. The arclock is smooth and has been very reliable. I did have to send the knife back to sog when one of the springs on the arclock broke. The cool thing is that the lock still worked properly, but I realized something was wrong, contacted sog, and they recommended I send the knife in to get fixed. I got the knife back about a week and half later. But back to the knife itself. I carried it quite often and never had any problems or complaints with it. There are probably better knives out there for the price, like the griptillian, delica, or endura, but I honestly cant say anything bad about knife. The handle will be fine unless you are abusing the knife. Tantos and serrations dont really float my boat anymore but if you like it, I dont think it is a bad knife.
