Looking for sheath- Spec Elite II

I just purchased a SOG Spec Elite II SE18 with the 5" blade. Although it comes with a clip, I find it too large
to stuff in my pocket. Ideally I would like to wear it in a belt sheath. The same sheath would be used when
carrying this knife in my fannypack or knapsack. Does anyone know of an aftermarket sheath that would be
suitable for this large folder? Measing the knife in folded position it would need approx 6 in height and 1 3/4 "
width. Material not important.

The Spec Elite II is a massive knife! I carry the Spec elite I and still think it's a big blade. I never seen any third party sheaths for it.. Ever. But I'm going to keep my eye out on this post because I'm curious. Hopefully it's serving you well. I know mine is!

Check out Benchmades 710 if you like big folders. About the same blade size as the Spec Elite I.

I'll be interested to see what you come up with as well. I just got one of these on the way! You could look for something from a place like skinith solutions. A little pricey but the quality is there. I have a sheath done by them for my leatherman juice that has been great for about 2 years.
 
Looks promising, let us know how it goes.

Maybe I should try making something like that out of leather. . .
 
Cool, cool! A Black leather version of the black one would be sweet. The gears are turning in my head. . . .
 
I received the Rainier sheath but discovered that SIZE 9 is a bit too small for the SOG Spec Elite II.
I will report again when the SIZE 10 arrives in a couple of days.
 
OK, the Raine pocket knife sheath (Made in USA) in size 10 arrived. As I expected it closes completely with the 5 3/4"
SOG Spec Elite II inside. I wish it had a better belt hookup system but it's the basic loop, fortunately
very solid though. This certainly will serve my intended purpose as general sheath when throwing my SOG into
my fanny pack or wearing it on the belt if needed. Every other sheath I've found is for 5 1/2"max so with
this SOG it won't close completely. Will try to post some pictures.

Looks like a viable option. The attachment system can often be the down fall of any sheath. I prefer a metal clip but personal preference is just that. Use it for a while and let us know how you like it going forward!

BTW, I got my Spec Elite II mid week. Man what a beast of a blade! It needed a little work on the handle. I sanded the inside edges of the plastic handle. Those things were sharp! Also, I took off some material from were the cut outs for the thumb studs are. Makes for a much more comfortable grip! Some pics of course!
