Looking for Sheeple-friendly EDC fixed blade

I'm looking for a small fixed blade for EDC that won't scare sheeple. 3 inch or less blade. Preferably something with a low-profile sheath I can clip in my pocket, similar to a folding knife, but much faster to draw when I need it!

I EDC a Bob Dozier Arkansas Traveler with a cross-draw sheath. Bob makes about the most flat, compact sheath around. I have sent a Blackhawk Crucible FB to him to have a sheath made. I'm also in discussions with Eric of "On Scene Tactical" to get a similar sheath made for a Busse Game Warden. Sounds like he can do what I need but faster then Bob.

So, I would recommend you first find the knife you want and then get a sheath made for it to your specifications. There a number of nice little fixed blades that do have the kind of sheath that is non-obtrusive. Bark River knives, for an example. If you are willing to get a sheath made, you will have a wider selection of knive to choose from.

That looks like a nice setup.

I should probably add that I don't want to scare people who see me use it. The above setup looks too much like a "weapon"

I've EDC'd a Graham Knives Razel. They do make stubby versions, but the one I have has a 3" blade. I would rather have a bit less blade for in-pocket carry, but this one does work fine.

Check out a Gene Ingram pocket wharncliffe - they fit very nicely in a pocket and are small enough (and pretty enough :D) that they just don't look threatening. 4 5/8" overall length with a 2" blade made of D2 steel.

I often carry a Bark River TUSK. It has about a 3" blade. I made the sheath.

If that is too big, here is my other fixed blade EDC, a Bark River IMP. It has about a 2" blade. Sorry you can't see the blade itself in the photo, but it is kind of a drop point. Again, I made the sheath.

Do some searches and see what you pull up. They are both very good knives.

Wasn"t the Spydy Ronin designed to be a sub 3 inch fixed blade that comes in bright happy hues.

It's great. Now we have 2 threads about sheeple-friendly EDCs. One that focuses on folders, and this one about fixed blades.

Bless are those who can use the search option :)

Bark River Mikro Canadian is extrememly nice for FB carry. It is very small, but quite useful. I have it in a BB horizontal carry kydex rig. It is my most carried knife.

I recently got a Bark River Mini Canadian (slightly larger than the Mikro) to use as a fixed edc. It's a very nice knife that is about 6" overall with a 2" blade. I keep it in the hip pocket sheath made for the Russell Woodswalker. It's very handy and discrete to carry and not "weapony" looking.

Here is a thought and it is something that I do. I carry a CRKT fixed blade in a kydex sheath, appendix carry and then I carry a Sheeple friendly folder in my other pocket. That way if I need to get to my “self defense” knife it is easy access, while not freaking out others when I need to use my small knife.
Then again who cares what other people think because when the Stuff hits the fan they are going to run to your side anyway.

The Benchmade 180 Outbounder has treated rosewood handles and is 3 and a fraction inches of blade. Very non-threatening and comes with a brown leather sheath. Nothing says "tactical" about it. They were made in 440C and then D2. 440C is discontinued; not sure about the D2. They also make the 190 and 192 that are non-threatening. All 3 are good general purpose knives from what I've read. The sheeple would not get their wool in a twist from any of these three.

I recently bought a 180 and like it. I'm thinking of getting 1 of the 3 for my wife for the kitchen. She's tough on tools/pots/pans/knives/etc. I figure if she likes 1 of these (each are available for under $100), maybe she'll want to get AND MAINTAIN some good dedicated kitchen knives. If anybody knows which of these 3 would be best for general kitchen use please let me know.

I would recommend the CRKT Carson F4.
Its a nice little neck knife.

I carry mine with me everywhere.

Great recommendations here:

I will second the following:

Bark River Mikro Canadian (very small knife) --I would try to get A2
BM Activator (D2 or S30V)
Gene Ingram -- he makes several FBs under 5" OAL (D2 or S30V)

And one that I didn't see mentioned:

Charles May's FireAnt (just over 5" OAL) --D2 or S30V

All of these are great knives.

Good luck.
:)
