After having rain for a few days Jeremy and I had some serious cabin fever and had to get out of the house. We decided to walk down an old railroad bed near a pond we like to fish. There is a lot of water and woods for animals to flourish.

The pond.

The outlet of the pond feeding into the swamp.

Found a flatback millipede.

We came across two skulls in the woods. One was a Pickerel and the other is a Beaver.

Unknown vertebrae.

Found a Leatherman Wave beside the trail. It is a little dirty and needs some TLC.

My newest knife.

Jeremy's Big Becker Bushcrafter.

We walked further up the trail.

Jeremy and Becker looking over the bank.

Salamander eggs.

A nice picture of Becker.

We found some pitcher plants!

Becker doing some trail cleanup.

Turkey track.

Redwing blackbirds.

Thanks for viewing!

Thanks for the great photos, Amanda. Cool find of the Leatherman....the Wave is a nice tool. Sure cure for cabin fever: get out of the cabin!

Great outing! I found a Wave once, in Iraq. I've still yet to really use it, but it's in the Jeep.

Nice pictures. Thanks for sharing. There sure is a lot of False Tinder Fungus (Fomes fomentarius) on that tree.

Very nice pics of an awesome trip, no doubt. Cool findings as well, the leatherman, skulls, flesh eating plants,...
Good choice on the Opinel. I recently stumbled upon a store that was doing a spring cleanout and got 3 more n°8's for a good price. Because, well... 10 Opinels isn't enough already. How are you liking the Opi?

Thanks for sharing!

That might be where this Wave is going. In the Jeep.

Thanks! We were going to collect some of the fungus but they were away from the trail in the swamp more than we wanted to walk through.

Thanks! Carnivorous plants are cool. I haven't really used this Opinel yet but I love my number 6. This one is a Number 8.

Beautiful area you guys are in some very nice camera work too.
Thank you

Thanks!

Great pics.
How far does that trail run.
See you guys in a couple weeks.

Thanks! The trail runs a ways. It used to be an old railroad track so it goes through a few towns. But people have bought land that the trail runs through so it can't be taken straight through anymore. See you in a couple of weeks.

Great pics, its about time spring has gotten here...... Becker sure has grown.

Looks like a good time out. I need to get out again. Nothing like the woods to heal the soul.

Awesome picture! Thanks for sharing!

What kind of pack is Jeremy wearing?

That is a 511 Moab 10.

Thanks everyone, we had a good time. If the rain holds off next weekend chances are we will have more Becker action for you guys.

Thanks! I think I need to make a trip to my local 5.11 dealer.

The Moab 10 is a great sling bag. I love mine, and EDC it as long as it's warm enough not to need aditional cold weather clothing...

That looks like a nice little outing though. Nothing like the absence of noise out in the woods.
