After a long hard winter, spring in Maine is not arriving as fast as we would like it to. But, Jeremy and I went in search of it anyways. These pictures are from a few short trips in between (and sometimes in) the frequent rain showers this time of year.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

We had fun and we can't wait for more of the woods to come alive.

Thanks!

Looking forward to seeing what more spring we can find next weekend with you guys. Hope it's as nice as last year. Thanks for all the great pics, Amanda. Did Jeremy have any luck calling turkeys? I saw about a dozen this morning on a short stretch of Class 6 road this morning, all separate; 8 hens, a couple jakes and a rather large tom.
Great bird pics. How'd you get them to sit still?

Fantastic post man! Are those oyster mushrooms? Very cool finds, it's awesome that you know all those plants and stuff. Thanks for sharing

Looks like a good time out, thanks for sharing. Makes me want to get out and get a hike in.

Like it?

Amanda that was amazing! Great stuff! I too pay full homage to your plant and tracking knowledge. Wunderbar! I sincerely love the American wilderness. You folks have a beautiful country. Simply awesome. Thank you for sharing yours, Jeremys and Beckers walk.

And was it just me that had images of raccoons in tutus performing a magnificent ballet piece upon that balance beam?

Um also, a serious question. Does Jeremy carry the gun for protection against animals such as bears and the like? Please have a laugh if that's a stupid question, I'm just curious to know.

Thanks again folks.. Springy..

Great pics CH!
Thanks for sharing.

The dish soap was obviously left by a woodcarving sailor. :D

Great pictures, thanks for sharing. Your bunch of crazy vines looks like Oriental Bittersweet (Celastrus orbiculatus). We have some of it up here and it really chokes out the trees it's climbing.

Doc

Simply awesome. Love the track pics. Raccoons will do that just to stay out of deep mud. They're too smart, sometimes. Makes me want to visit your state.

 Thanks so much for taking the time to put these up for us. I love BFC.

Thanks guys! We had a fun time. I plan on posting more of our trips like these in the future.

Jeremy didn't have any luck calling the turkeys. Becker didn't really help running around like crazy. The key with the bird pictures is to take lots of pictures and don't show the bad ones.

Thanks for viewing. The firearm is for whatever we come across that wants to do us harm. 2 legged or otherwise. I hope it proves unnecessary.

Ah yes, the legend of the woodcarving sailor!

Thanks again everyone!
