So I like to carry knives that are close to 4" in size, but I often find myself at the receiving end of many "please don't kill me looks" when I pull my knife out to free a small cat that is tangled from a small child's balloon string. So I like to carry my para 2, what would you suggest as a second knife to carry that is light and wont scare those less knife people. Delica is what I'm looking at now, but anything better or different would be considered.

Their are a few great options, some balisongs might fit the bill as well. Also, some spyderco knives will easily fit what you are looking for.

I carry a fully serrated h1 dragonfly in this exact same role. The yellow handle and small size is non-threatening, and the serrated edge adds a little versatility. The frn dragonfly weighs literally almost nothing and absolutely disappears in your pocket. I carry mine clipless with a little paracord lanyard and I've also heard good things about using them as a money clip. All in all its a great little knife and in serrated edge, the perfect compliment to your plain edge para2.

take a look at Opinel's - fairly priced & now a lot of handle options & very sheeple friendly

How about a good old fashioned pocket knife like a Case, Buck, Schrade, GEC, etc? They usually don't draw too much unwanted attention and they cut like little scalpels.

Rough Rider Half Whittler.

Stick with the Delica. I have 2... the blue frn Delica 4 ffg, and the ZDP-189 variety. Both are great knives, I'd recommend the former for slicing and normal tasks, and the latter for extreme use because it's very tough, albeit difficult to sharpen. Other good smaller folders that I have are the Kershaw Skyline, Spyderco Persistence (great value for $27, but a hell of a knife!) Spyderco Dragonfly 2, and any Benchmade mini-griptilian model (556 is my fav.)

I think the orange Spyderco small rescue knife will fit the bill. The color won't scare anyone and the blunt tip of the blade is perfect for freeing cats from things they should not be messing with in the first place.

Plan on rescuing more cats?

Why should you care what others think as long as you aren't breaking any local laws?

Normally, I would probably also recommend a slipcase knife, like an inexpensive Rough Rider, but you should be carrying it for yourself, not for others.

SAK.......just because they are useful for even non cutting needs and even most non knife folk find them to be neat. That, plus the fact that for $10-25, you won't find a better knife.

It's hard to beat a SAK for being sheeple friendly. The Victorinox Cadet is one to consider.

Yup, I carry one of these under my PM2 in an office full of women, and they don't look twice at the Cadet.

i cant think of a better knife than the victorionx tinker. it has a "small balde"," super small balde", a punch/all, philleps screw driver, flat head screwdriver, can opener, small flat head ,wire striper, toothpick and tweezers. ( thats what i can remember)

( i would check but i am in school right now and pulling out my knife would be fround upon in a MAJOR way! it is my school edc because no students are affraid or care and it sits in the bottom of my pocket )

I'd also say either A spyderco dragonfly or bug or an opinel no. 6. Opinel isn't as easy to one hand open but it's super thin and I mean thin, gets sharp very easy, and costs about $9 and with it's round little handle is very sheeple friendly
