I am really a big fan of the Emerson La Griffe for that reason: retention.

So, I am curious if anybody makes completely different or similar designs that include the finger hole. This knife would be strictly a self-defense instrument, so it doesn't matter to me if it's suitable for whittling or starting fires, or anything like that. The only restriction that I can't work around: no double edges.

Thanks.

Quality blades... beside the lagriffe?
Spyderco spot and swick... not currently in production check E bay, one hole like the lagriffe with a more conventional handle... nice designs

Hideaway knives (two finger fit)... may have a long wait time.. great retention but may not be the quickest to draw since the hole is measured to fit your index and middle finger and this may inhibit a quick draw as you try to squeeze your fingers thru.

SAR sarclops, nice design, looks sweet and uses one finger large enough to slip thru quickly.

Strider SLCC... Has a hole that may be used for a finger but its best to just grab it with the hand and pull this badboy out 1/8th S30V nice but a little heavy for EDC for me.

There are other custom manufaturers that have variations such as Fred perrin makes custom variations, warren thomas (trex hak) Coogler (titanium push variation one finger hole). CKRT makes a cheap two finger production neck knife... You can check these out if you want something inexpensive.

Nice pix and suggestions.

I should've clarified, I am looking for a forward finger hole.
