Someone I work with gave mea knife this morning and I'm rather curious to learn some more about it. I will try to post some pics from home tonight, but for now, here goes:

It it about the same size as an LB7, but the edges of the handles are not eased as much. The front brass bolsters don't have that flat area where they used to stamp the serial number. There are 5 pins in the body through the solid wood (looks like it might be mahogany) scales. The back of the clip point blade has 7 small notches in it close to the bolsters. There is no tang stamp, but stamped or etched into the blade, in three lines, it says:

SCHRADE
19 FOUNDERS KNIFE 15
GEORGE - JOSEPH - LOUIS

The center line is inside of a scroll or banner.

Hopefully that's enough to get started on until I can post pics tonight. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

OK, got some pics, although they aren't too good. Tried the flatbed scanner, but the focus on the blade wasn't real good. May try a couple more, but here are what I've taken.

Again, any info anybody can give would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm... that is an odd knife. I don't think it was made by, or commissioned by Schrade. The blade looks wierd, like a Parker from Japan or something. The bolsters look like a knockoff of a Camillus. And...1915? Whatisthis? Schrade was founded by the Schrade brothers in 1904, not 1915. I don't know what to make of this knife. Is there any kind of maker's mark on it?

Only what you see on the blade. No tang stamp, no bolster markings, nothing I can find inside. And that marking on the blade is actually engraved or stamped into the blade and then filled with black paint or something. It's not etched. It came in what appears to be a genuine Schrade leather sheath, but those can be picked up quite easily, so no real clue there. Was wondering if it might be some sort of LB7 prototype, or maybe something like a Franklin Mint commemorative kind of thing. The only thing I know about it for sure is the guy who gave it to me had it for many years, and forgot he had it until he found it while sorting and packing to move into a new house. He doesn't remember anything else.
