I went all over town today looking for a frame lock military, didn't find one. i did however find a old mint condition military at my last stop. it has 041 engraved on the spine, dose this mean it is the 41st military made?
i have a limited knowledge on spyederco so im looking for some help.

Nice score! The two screw clip models were the first made. Don't know about the 041 but the more modern Spyderco's use a number system for the collector club members. Not sure when they started that.

Have you checked completed auctions at ebay? 41 is the collector number.

nice score.

if it's in good working order this will make a great user, forget about the value and use it hard.

i would but it is 3/4 serrated and i hate serrated blades. i would like to have one in plane edge.
it doesn't look to have ever cut anything its like new.

That is considered a fully serrated edge. Carry the knife for a week and use it, I guarantee that you will feel different about serrations.

A word of warning before you start using it. The two-screw 440V Militaries had a problem with the heat-treat. 440V (a.k.a. S60V) was a brand-new alloy, with no history to draw from, so it was hardened to what Crucible recommended. Field reports of chipping problems were widespread, resulting in a switch to ATS-34 until a new heat treatment was settled on. The change from 2 screw to 3 screw clips came during the ATS-34 period, so 440V blades with 3 screw clips have the newer, somewhat softer HT, while those with 2 screw clips (like that one) are harder and more prone to chipping.
