Howdy all.
About a month ago I bought a Case Texas Jack.
While I DID get to hand select it, the proud backspring on the main blade went unnoticed.
It digs into my thumb causing a lot of discomfort.

So I'd like to send it in.

How's the turnaround time?
Are they good people?

And here's the catch.
I already patina'd both blades.
Did I void my warranty?
I hope not...
I really like this knife and I hope they can help me like it more

Thank you in advance.

I'd send it in. Case will make it right. Patina is no problem. I just had 3 knives returned to me for warranty work by Case -they told me 8 weeks, but it was less than 6.

I have sent a few knives in to them. I've forgotten what they stated as the turnaround time but I got them back much quicker. They are reallg good people!

Patina on the blades doesn't effect the warranty. I sent in a Stockman with the blades almost totally black and they sent it back all polished, looking like new. They give details on their website about the procedure for sending something in to them.

As others have said, patina does not affect warranty.

They are very good to deal with. Turn around time is stated a 6-8 weeks. Very simple process - follow the instructions in the link I provided below. When you send it in with the form included, within about 2 weeks you will receive a confirmation post card with a repair order number and noting the 6-8 week time. If they find the knife not to be a warranty repair, they will send an invoice that you either pay to have fixed or you can just request it be returned to you.

Thanks guys, and especially thanks to "coaltrain" for the link.
I'm sending it out this Friday/Saturday.
Glad to hear they're good folks.
