Looking for some information on Hen & Rooster

The new SMKW sale book has a Hen and Rooster 4-1/4 inch stockman with a stag handle, also several "Cattle Rustler" 4" stockman patterns with bone handles.

Both have what they call Solingen Steel, I assume that is a high carbon 1095, right?

Anybody have any experience with the Hen and Rooster knives with the Solingen Steel? I have an Eye Brand stockman with the high carbon steel that I really like, how would you say that the Hen and Rooster compares to Eye Brand?

Given the current production models, I prefer the Eye Brand myself. The older Hen & Roosters were different though. The current Eye Brand stag knives actually have some pretty nice stag(might be red deer, but I don't care) and their carbon steel blades seem to hold a really good edge.

Sadly, most of the newer Hen and Rooster knives listed as Solingen steel is stainless, probably 420 or thereabouts.

It appears at least on that website that the Cattle Rustler you mentioned is really carbon, though. I'm not sure if it's 1095 or not.
