I am looking for some information on some knives my father left. I have some information but not nearly enough. I have the story behind the Harvey McBurnette knife (with B.R. Hughes name on it). I just simply emailed Mr. Hughes myself. It is an early McBurnette (1973) as pictured. It was given to Mr. Hughes to get publicity and it worked.
There is one knife "by George". I am pretty sure this is George Englebretson.
The 3rd knife is a custom knife by "NK". Nolen?

Sorry. Didn't realize. We are just trying to do the correct thing with the estate. I have purchased a membership.

George Englebretsen was an Oklahoma City policeman. He passed in 2007. He like D2 steel and taught a lot of us on knifemaking. I cannot see the picture so cannot respond any on it.

I can see the knives, click on the link in post 2. Then click on the picture, there are 11 photos. They are a little confusung though as to which knife is which.

I do not know much about the makers. I would guess the By Georege is a caping knife.

They are beautiful knives in apparently GREAT condition.

Unfortunately those makers have fallen off the radar to all but the most elder collectors. (Note that all of them seem to have brass guards. THAT'S old school.)

Harvey's folders still have a following, but unsure of the others. Dave Harvey of Nordic Knives may be a smart email to help guide and educate you further on these. HE'S seen it all. Google his website.

Good luck. Thanks for showing us and supporting the site.
