I have been stuck on this and was hoping maybe some of you could point me in the right direction. This forum is full of experience.

I'm looking to acquire a few hand tools for leather but I was trying to avoid buying new or getting stuck with junk from China. That, and when it comes to hand tools, there is something about a vintage item that adds to the value in it for me. For example, I was super excited to get my wife's grandfathers old double bit axe. I restored it and it is better than any new axe on the shelves in the hardware store. I also recently inherited my grandfathers wood chisel set that he not only used but MADE. (He was a tool maker)

I've tried hunting on the auction place but have not come across much. The bulk of the vintage tools for sale there appear to be expensive collectors items.

All I'm looking for currently is a stitch groover, a #2 edge beveler and a #5 overstitch wheel. Can any of you point me in the right direction?

I thank you in advance!! :)

I'd suggest that you decide on just what you want, then follow your grand dad's lead,
and make your own...
I still use the the leather awl I made in the early 70's..........
