Hi to all,
I have an offer for the brave at heart. I have been reading that a lot of you do not like to make sheaths for your knives. I have recently got back into leather after a few years, and I find I really enjoy making them. Not the high end stuff like wild rose, but a good basic hunting type sheath.
Here is the deal. I would like 4 or 5 guys or gals who move a fair amout of knives to send me a hard pattern (plastic, wood?), or a P.O.S. blade or a good one that you would like to have a sheath for. What ever you would be comfortable with.
I will make a 9-11 oz. plain or, slightly embellished your choice, straight loop type sheath, with or without tie down, brown or black.
Then I'll mail it back to you. All I want is an honest evaluation of the work that you can pass on to others who might be interested in my work. End of deal. Free.

First come deal.
Just post on forum then email me at deilyn@intellex.com for details questions or address.

The reason for this if your wondering is it is too hot to work out in the knife shop, and I can do this in the air conditioning.:)
COME ON Down......

I have a tiny little handmade fixed blade by Louis Vallet that I'd like a nice sheath for to use as an EDC, but it would need to be in a dangler style. I'll send you a pic and specs so you can evaluate the viability of such a product, but I would be more than happy to do an evaluation for you. This knife is my fixed blade EDC, I've carried it everywhere since I bought it, but the sheath leaves me a little cold. I'll send an e-mail later when I get off of work, thanks for the generous offer!

Very good post Redneck. Good luck to you. I respect craftsmen and it seems as though you may well be one.

Hey man, are you still here? I sent you some info via e-mail, I was just wondering if you had recieved it.

Hi Roadrunner,
I have not seen an e mail from you. I got one from shappa and replied to him. Try me again. You may have got caught in some of the filtering?
If not. Come back through here and we'll try something else.
Man I never knew it would be hard to GIVE away Free stuff. What a country!

OK, I'll try again. If you don't get a message by noon tomorrow send me a PM or post again here, we'll figure out the problem somehow! Thanks again for doing this, I'm excited to do a write up on your stuff.

I'll send you a knife if you are still taking them.

Hello Kyle,
Welcome, Hey just email me for the address and info. you might want to know. Kinda give me some input if you have any ideas.
That puts you at #3
Come on guys TWO more and it's over....

Hi Mike, how many guys did you get to take you up on your offer?

I sent off a custom knife to Mike. Lots of great email back and forth. His turn-around time was only a few days and today I'm wearing a great knife in a great sheath.

I admit I was really hesitant about sending of one of my few customs to someone I haven't met and hardly interacted with. I'm glad I did. I got a new sheath and a new friend.

Hello,
Sorry I didn't answer sooner, I've been working on some folks stuff.
Shappa, thanks for the reply. Glad you are happy and enjoying your sheath. So far I have had four willing souls besides yours. I know it is hard to trust folks now days.

Hi Burchtree- I am photographically challenged? I did just buy a new digital and managed to send Shappa a couple of pics, but not too sure how to get one on here yet or if I even can, being only a lowly basic member?

Kalindras- Yes I'm going to do a couple more for free, but Deer season is looming not too far down the road, (Oct 1). One has to keep their priorities straight?
E-mail me, then send it on.

Well off the salt mines:D

I'm putting up a review in the review forum. A fellow forumite is going to post pics there for me. (Thanks again , Heber).

Burchtree, I sent you some pics. If you'd like you could post them here. Thanks
