Hi guys. Long time since getting over this way.

Been busy on my own forums I guess.
To get to the point, even though I make knives I don't make slip joints. Been there and done it, but three times was enough to know its not my cup of tea. My frequent 'go to' knife has been a 2001 Marbles Easy Opener Tear Drop Bufflalo Horn handle two blade in 1095 steel. Here it is by my ruler in the attatched picture for your convenience.

This knife appeals to me for a number of reasons. One its the biggest knife I can carry and not notice in my pocket. And two, and most importantly I can open it. I'm a life time pro nail biter you see and the easy opener has always been a must for me. I had nothing but these style knives as a youth growing up in West Virginia.

What I'd like and hope you can give me a quote on is this same exact knife only in a single blade just like this or close with a hardened brass lock like Gerber did on their PK knives and you see in the electricians knives with a little tab lock of work hardened brass, or for that matter titanium is fine also. I am not opposed to looking at close existing models that can be adapted to my needs but this pattern works for me. One thing I'm worried about is the knife being too thin if we take the small blade out of the folder because I do like the thickness of this one fine so I want to also ask that the scale and bolster be chunky to make up a bit of that loss of thickness and thicker brass liners or ti liners are a plus also and would sit well with me. I also like and want a very good half stop and prefer a nice stout back spring. I

I don't need and I can't open the smaller blade or most any blade with nail nicks most of the time anyways and hardly ever touch it on this folder. I also don't need a nail nick at all on the main blade with the easy open feature as I like but if you do a nail nick the long draw is preferred.

I don't need or really want to pay extra for file work or anything like this. Its a bare bones get after user I want not a safe queen. I like gun blued 1095 hard and thin. Like .012 -.105 right above a 15` edge bevel is just fine. Less if you think it will fly is also not going to be objected to. Not sure what the Rc is on this one Queen did for Marbles but its a great performer and I have used the tar out of it. Its comfortable and just all around goodness in a folder in my hand and my pocket. I prefer flatter rather than really rounded handles. I don't like em rolling around down there all day but prefer they lay nice and flat like if that makes sense..

If you can do this in black or mostly black bull horn, or buffalo like this here as I hope please let me know how feesible it is to do. If not can you recommend someone?

Thanks

Try Bob Ham.
He made a teardrop jack for me and it is a beauty.

Thanks I wrote Bob and called Jeff. I may get one of each. I changed it some for Bob so hopefully one of these guys will work with a carbon steel. Jeff's knives so far that I have seen are all ATS34 which I don't really want.
