I have come up with an idea and a list of tools for a new SAK. That being said, I do not understand how the locking mechanisms work nor do I have a professional grasp on how to design one of these things.

Any help would be appreciated. Feel free to comment or private message if you have any questions.

Are you thinking of doing a Franken-Sak from donor parts, or trying to build your own from scratch?

When using donor parts, the tools and springs work together in sets, you can't just put anything anywhere, but there are charts to tell you what main layer and back-spring tools are compatible, as well as some youtube videos.

Yeah, wouldn't it be great to have a Cadet with small scissors instead of a nail file and a more durable finish?

Can you steer me to these charts and videos? I would like to try some donor part Franken SAK work. Thanks!

you'd have to do some hunting around multi-tool.org. I know I've seen them, but couldn't say exactly where. There is a modding community around. averageiowaguy has a video of adding scissors to an alox farmer, there are others as well.
