Basically, i'm talking about the handle and the way it's shaped...trying to find something with a smaller blade length.
i saw a very talented gentleman (i think his company was called KKKnives) at the NYC Custom show who made smaller knives with that "egg" shaped handle on them...a bit expensive...
anyway, anybody have any ideas??
Thanks!!

Kelt34, was this talented gentleman wearing a white robe? Was there a burning cross behind his table?

Feanor That is very very interesting. How does the handle feel in your hand. Have you tried to poke anything with this knife. Does it want to move around in your hand? Beautiful knife.

Kelt ck out Running dog as well. On my home page I have a little boot knife kinda thingy from them. Take a look. Not exactly egg shape but similer in its handleing.

Guys, come on...things aren't always the way they appear...
Anybody who was at the NYC Custom Knife Show (Lifter4Him, are you out there??).....may have seen this gentleman's table...believe it or not, he was a black man, i think his last name started with a K, and he added the other two Ks for Kustom Knives....hence the KKK....yeah, i know it doesn't look good and it definitely made me think too...and his knives were beautiful works of art...if you choose not to buy a knife from him because of those initials, i think that is just plain stupid. that way of thinking reminds me of how a man lost his job because he used the word "niggardly" in a speech...nobody bothered to look it up in their Webster's, provided they owned a dictionary...they would have found that the definition had nothing to do with the way it sounds....
But since they didn't like the way it sounded, he was sacrificed to the gods of P.C.
Anybody have a Webster's?? Are you gonna throw it out now, since that word is in there? or maybe not buy any book that may have a word that may resemble/remind you of some other word/connotation??
Back to the subject at hand....i wish i could remember this guy's name....he had a speech impediment, was very friendly, and i believe he had on a dark colored beret...he was on the left hand side when you first walked into the room (at the NYC show)...his name may have been Karson, i'm not sure....BTW, nice link!!

Kelt,

I know exactly who you are talking about. Unfortunately I don't remember his name

Mickey- that does sound familiar; but i think his last name starts with a K....i believe he's from Hollywood or Beverly Hills; his knives at the show were beautiful, warm wooden handled, and they were (the handles) egg-shaped...not completely round, and not flat. They were fantastic to handle; they fit the palm of the hand perfectly, and he had various sizes. Drawback: very expensive, and i believe 440C....some of the smaller ones were around $265.00.....
still, they really felt good in the hand.

KELT,

Sorry, no luck. I checked all of the cards that my brother picked up from the knife show and it was not there. Good luck.

Hi Keltie,
I've known Alex Collins for many years. He named his company KKK(KollinsKustomKnives) many years ago when he was just about the only black guy(though Paul Jarvis was around sometimes, too) at alot of shows as a joke. It also served to break the ice and got people(customers) talking to him about his knives. He's a very talented maker and it's really good to see someone who doesn't take himself too seriously.
Kelt, his info should be in the back of any of the Knives Annuals but if you can't find it-drop me an email and I'll dig it out.

I was just about to chime in with Alex Collins when I heard about the egg shaped handles. I had a less than satisfying transaction with him about four - five years ago. Kelt you can email me. On the positive side he does some very cool looking unique stuff. If your looking for something not seen everywhere just look at his table.

Kelt,
If you end up not being able to purchase one Mr. Collins knives. You might try to search for a fixed blade made by Benchmade but now discontinued. Called Kuma Zume, it was designed by Steve Schwarzer. It had a 3inch, hooked shaped blade, made of A-2 tool steel, with a egg shaped Kraton handle. I have an article somewhere in my colection of old knife magazines, that has a reveiw of it and a pic. E-mail me if you want me do a search for it and I will send you the article.
