looking for something unusual

A buddy of mind has got a wierd idea in his head and he's trying to see if it exists. I figured I'd bring it in here. He is discribing a blade "like a machete" but longer with a canted handle. his exact words were like a pistol grip. perhaps 15 to 20 degrees. If such a critter exists could you guys post links, pics, prices what have you. I'm just going to take what ever shows up in here and email it to him. thanks for your time and effort guys.

decided to just post his letter. the request is as follows:

Got a question that needs your expertise. I want to
find priced and pictures of a sword but I don't know
who would offer such a thing as I'm imagining. I'm
looking for a blade like an extended machete, with a
pistol grip, at a slight angle to the blade, say
around 15 to 30 degrees. Let me know if you have any
leads *grins* Will talk to ya more later

Well, you could be describing any number of Filipino weapons. Many have blades like machetes with pistol grips.

Also conisder the Dao range of chinese broadswords.

They have all kinds of crazy and obscure blade styles. (mostly traditional styles of asian cultures I think)

I cannot vouch for thier quality yet, but if you do a search in the forums many people seem to like them. I have a Golok on order from them now and have no complaints with service so far.

They also had a couple of very interesting looking reproductions of Greek kopis swords at Cat.# AW-02 and AW-02D. I wonder how good their work really is?
