Hi,

I've never used a frame lock, and I keep hearing great things about them. I'd like to try one out, but I don't know where to begin. So far, I'm looking at Boker, but the Trance is too small. I'd like something less than 3.5", more than 3". G-10 would be great. Any ideas? I like more traditional blade shapes, something like a drop or spear point.

If anyone could throw around some names that I should try out, it'd be appreciated. So far, the Boker looks like the best bet, but I don't mind spending more to get what I want.

You could try a Buck Waimea... Awesome little framelock close to your $$$ Range...It's the second from the bottom... Both of the top two are framelocks as well!

How about the Boker M Type. It is a nice folder for the money. GOOD LUCK! Kevin :D

Kershaw Leek is a good starter framelock........especially the D2 composite version. The Leeks are assisted opener folders so keep that in mind.

If you keep looking you might find someone who has a Bradley Alias II for sale in that price range. The Bradley Alias would be my preference.

Boker M type is indeed the splendid big brother of the trance. It provides awesome value for the money.

Spend $ 35 or so and try a Kershaw Storm II. 3.5 inch 13C26 blade, frame lock, tip up/down carry, and a great value for your money. Save the rest, and decide later!

Having both the Storm II and Boker MType... I have to say the MType gets more pocket time. In fact, Im not quite sure what I did with my Storm II.. I think its under my desk.

Made in the USA Storm, or a Chinese made Boker for $ 10 more...Don't get me wrong, I have a Boker auto, and it is nice. But for $ 10 less and American made, I'd go with the Storm.

The Kershaw Leek CB has an amazing framelock and an awesome CPM-D2 cutting edge. It is a great value and I highly recommend it.

I'm liking that junkyard, I'll search around for a good price and let you know how it goes.

the kershaw storm 2 is rather low priced, but i carried one on a construction site for many months and it never failed me.
