I'm want to order the fixed blade version but I can only find it on a few sites and it says its 440c. Is this correct, and if it is when does the AUS8 version come out?

Aloha EFMetalEng,

Yes, 440C is correct.

However, I do not think these will be coming out in AUS8. Only the SUBCOM Folder's run that steel type. Honestly, I would not mind an SFB using X15!;)

AFAIK, only Boker Germany has the SFB and they are in the process of sending out backorders and such...I'll keep you posted as much as possible on this.

God bless and mahalo:thumbup:

i got a subcom fixed from www.wolfster.de. i think he will ship to usa;)
a great little knife made from 440C
thank you chad for the design !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but the sheath is not good :( :( ......it feels like a plastic-toy....not very solid......i hoped that boker would make a real kydex-sheath, but they make it from injection molded zytel. :(
a friend of mine will make one from kydex ;)

D*** it!

We waited all this time because the sheaths were bad, and they still give us bad sheaths?

It's a good thing I planned on a custom sheath anyway, but still, this irritates me. We could have had them months ago with crappy sheaths, what did we wait for?

The SFB is an exceptionally well made knife, it doesn't deserve a "afterthought" sheath.

Aloha Scott,

Looks like more business for Chase?;)

No problem bro. I got over it.;) I'll still be buying a bunch of them, because I gotta keep Chase busy pimping them out:p I planned on pimping most of them anyway, so the sheath will have to be redone on all of them because of that, so the original sheaths will get tossed, I would have rather had them earlier with no sheath though.

I'm thinking one in CF too. Really want to see if I can cord wrap one, but the last time I tried, it looked like crap.

I got mine from Wolfster at the end of last week, and I was disappointed with the sheath as well. If you want to cordwrap the handle, you cannot start from the first slot because that is covered by the sheath. I would have loved to show you pictures, but I cannot upload them directly, and going the "other" Böker forum route (because one can upload directly from the harddisk in knifeforums) doesn't work because that one has been terminated.
The one clever design item of the sheath is the positioning of the Tecloc holes - you can carry the knife upwards, downwards and horizontal.
Michael - who likes the knife and its size, and who wonders what on earth the sheath problem was.

Aloha bro,

Pppfffttttttt...yeah, right. I figured you had a lot of practice on your employees?:D :D :p :D :p Just kidding, just kidding!!! NO, not the Aardvark!

God bless you Scott, and thanks:thumbup:

Aloha clavichord,

Mahalo for your support, and love that "signature" after your name! (We may have to share it!):D

God bless and take care:thumbup:

Alohallo jag13,

Great seeing you here in the States!;) Thanks for your kind words and my apologies about the sheath...I will understand more once I get mine...

There is a lot of talk about the SFB over at Messer...but waaaaaaaaaay too much for me to try and babelfish.:o

God bless and mahalo:thumbup:

Pictures of the FB cum sheath can be seen on the Messerforum thread:
http://www.messerforum.net/showthread.php?t=37538
You can see it without registering. The sheath material is ABS, and the online dealers have altered their catalog accordingly: http://www.wolfster.de/index.php?disp=shop&show=50/0/02BO012

Chad - don't you worry about babelfishing. In essence everybody says the knife is great, but needs another sheath....

Michael

Aloha clavichord,

Hey thanks a LOT Michael. Apparently, a lot of slang is used or something and always at the best part when I try to babelfish it!

Um...what is a...nevermind.:foot:

God bless and mahalo:thumbup:

Actually the Edit was supposed to be shipping on the 30th according to some dealer sites, but looking now it's been bumped back to May 19th. Meaning...So much for ordering my Edit this week.
