Hey! Am looking for suggestions for a good multi tool! I fish a lot and am kind of tired of dragging a lot of different tools around. I currently have a sak climber that am looking to replace. After looking through the sak line-up, I couldn’t find a tool that fulfils my needs. Am hoping you guys might have some suggestions! Size and shape should preferable be like the ranger grip boatsman. The most important factor is the blade, it should be quite beefy and durable. And I need to be able to operate it one handed! No spring blades as they’re illegal in Norway. A good pair of scissors that holds its edge is also important. Other than that, a little saw and some pliers would be a plus, but not completely necessary. Thank you!

It would be easier to suggest if you could elaborate why the SAKs you have or have been looking haven't been your thing.

Wave/Charge/Surge. The + versions have an upgraded blade steel. (Standard blade steel is 420HC.)
I have the Charge+ TTI. Plain edge blade is S30V. The serrated with gut hook blade is 420HC.
The "Regular" Charge+ has either a CPM154 or 54CM blade. I forget which.
These have the one hand opening outside accessable (2) knife, (1) file and (1) saw blades. The scissors are one of the inside tools.
All the blades and tools lock open.

Have you looked at the 85mm SAK Evo Grip 14; 17; and 18? (the 17 & 18 have a saw) They have the Wenger micro serrated self sharpening scissors that use a backspring for the scissors spring; not the regular prone to break* SAK scissor spring.

*If it wasn't or isn't prone to break they wouldn't sell that spring as a "common" replacement part like the easily lost tweezers and toothpick.

Hey! I currently use a sak climber! Its a great little knife i carry around for everyday use, but was a little flimsy for my outdoor use! I have looked at the ranger grip 71 gardener, only problem with that one is the blade thats har to operate with one hand! Thank you!

Thank you! I am considering the charge! Could you tell me a little more about the scissors? Given your name, I assume you know how important sharp scissors are when clipping braided line! Do they hold up over time?

The evo grip line would actually be a nice to replace my sak climber as an everyday carry. To confirm your point, my climbers scissors spring have been broken for years...

If you like the climber, Pioneer X or Farmer X make great ”heavier use” versions. They have solid alox scales and are pretty much indestructible and bery low maintenance knives. Bushcraft peeps really like the Farmer and Farmer X.

I only got my Charge+ TTI in a trade a bit over a week ago.
The guy I got it from had it for a couple years, but never carried or used it. It stayed in a drawer with his SAK Sprint Plus multi tool, a SAK Champ, and whatever they call the good for display not so much to carry and use as wide as it is long one with 64 (or more?) tools.

What little I've used the scissors, they've held up. Cut a PU "leather" strap better than my new stand alone 6 inch Scotts scissors did.

I second this recommendation. With upgraded steel these are really nice.

Thanks you guys! I just ordered the charge+ tti for outdoor use, and the evo s18 for everyday carry. Thanks!
Excellent choices. 😁
I pair my LM with the Evo Grip 14 (multi purpose corkscrew and no saw) and a Mini Champ.
To ensure they don't run away I keep each on a seperate 32 inch chain lanyard.
I used 100 pound test saltwater ball bearing snap swivels on each end of the chain to prevent twists.
