Hello,

New to the forum, hope you can help. About 30 years ago a guy named Jack Martin made a custom knife for my now deceased dad. He lived in the Batesville Arkansas area and should be in his 60's today. The knife has gone missing over the years, but I still have a newspaper clipping about the maker. Can't find anything on the web, was hoping somone could help here. I'm ultimately hoping for a replica, but all my recollections of the knife are hazy, as I was just a kid when he showed it to me. Thanks for any help - Casper

I checked all my Knives Annuals from that era and nothing mentioned. He just didn't take the time to submit his info.

Yes, someone could service your wishes, but we need to see his work.

Good luck, and welcome to our world. :)

Thanks Coop,
Well an update, I was able to talk to some people who knew him. They said he passed away a few years ago. I was given a contact number for some possible family, so the best I can hope for now is probably a photo... maybe.

Thanks again.

I would suggest this.

The knife is missing. Even if you have a photo, no maker is going to be able to precisely duplicate that knife, scale gets thrown off, details get missed.

Draw the knife in a sketch, as you remember it. Work at it slowly, so even if you are not a skilled artist, you can still do it. Once you have it the way you want it to look, we can help you find someone in a price range that you can afford, to make this knife for you.

It will not be your dad's knife, but it can certainly be an homage to your dad's knife, and a great effort to his memory.

Best Regards,
