hello,
thanks for reading.
I would like to know which is the thinnest small khukri available.
thanks.

The thin part is throwing me a little. Maybe a Balance model or a 12" Sirupati. Seems if it were made by Bura you might get a slender blade and edge too.

Maybe one I got a little carried away with when using my new belt grinder?

A Balance as previously stated methinks...

The Kagas Katne would fit that description but it's not much more than a letter opener although it is of decent hardness and made just like the bigger ones. The blades are about 3 1/2" to 4" long and the handles 2 1/2" or so including bolsters. I'm thinking a Bilton is more in line of what you may be looking for as it's about the smallest practical khuk there is and its abilities are limited due to its size.
What are you planning on using it for if we may ask?:)

Oops!!!! I see the 10"-12" part after I posted. I concur that the Balance model may be the one, or a 12" Sirupati or Chainpuri although I haven't ever seen one of the latter.:(

Because the knives are made individually, they may vary even by the same Kami.

I'd suggest you email Bill Martino or Yangdu and ask if they have a sirupati or thin-bladed 12in AK which are markedly thinner than others. Don't call, email.

Be safe.

I think the Balance is 13", isn't it?

You'd definitely want a 12" sirupati....something in my memory tells me I've seen smaller/thinner in that size....a 10" IIRC.....the Chesapeake Bay Club khuk, Yvsa?

1- Yup, possibly 12 1/2 inches.

2- Can't recall the actual size at the moment but believe you're very close Dan.
However I think a CBCK may be close to impossible to get if only one is wanted.
But another order of several may be possible if there's enough guys wanting one. They were nice little khuks and I'm glad I got mine, it's not for sale. Run it by Bill and see what he has to say.:D

That size pretty much narrows the field down even if we knew what the guy wanted it for.:(

I think you should ask Uncle Bill if he has a 18-19 oz 15" AK lying around. Those will probably be a little more than 1/4" thick.

like doughnuts said, a reti is the thinnest, smallest kuk in that size range. In fact, it's so slim, the "will take any abuse" type rhetoric does NOT apply: this is a combat blade or weed-wacker.

The only one I could find is on the HI site. I'll shoot some tonight or tomorrow.

Walking Man?

Welcome to the ranks.

We expect pictures if possible, and a full field report, including any possible mishaps.

Be safe,

You're going to love the 12" siru, WM. It is one of the true unsung Khukuri heroes. Not a big beefy bloke to smash down a tree with, but long enough to do a fair amout of work for it's size. Yet, its small enough be a joy to pack around all day long on a hike. Enjoy and welcome:)

Quick & dirty pics of my Reti for Pen. I agree with what everybody has said about the 12" Siru. The 12" & 15" are perfect knives if you want to do no chopping >2".
