Looking for type of sword

my friend is looking for a katana of a certain type(i think my description is ok).

it appears to be a typical katana, with the exception of a large empty portion in the middle of the blade. kind of like a very large and totally hollow blood groove.

any information would be appreciated.

You could post this on the Sword Discussion Forum...but...

The reality is that no such sword exists. At least not anything Japanese and nothing of any other cultural style I've ever heard of. A piercing through a blade like that would prove to be a significant structural fault and would not be desirable whatsoever.
