Hey everyone new to this forum are there any vendors with deals on , esee, Ontario knives, etc. ?

Looking for a good survival knife and self defense I live in new jersey but will be spending 2 months in costa rica soon

Thanks In advanced

You do realize you are asking us to deal spot...which is explicitly against the rules here?

Been on a lit of different forums for different things and usually vendors can help with a discounted price and all so was just curious if it was possible

Why not just pick up a machete for a couple bucks when you're down there. There's not a "survival" knife out there I'd pick over a machete in tropical environs. My $.02.

You won't be deal spotting if you direct him dealers who pay to advertise on BFC. You'll be supporting them.

The machete I could pick up there however I still wanted a esee or Ontario. Along with a boker

Well he was specifically asking for deals but if the OP really wants a survival knife then I recomend knives ship free. They have quick turn arounds and a huge selection. I just bought an ESEE Izula through them and received it within 24 hours of placing the order online. Helps shipping time when you live next door though. ;)

You could also consider buying a nice machete to fly with you in your checked luggage. I'm sure the machetes you find locally will be alright though. But a fixed blade to bring with you is a smart idea.

ESEE are already discounted enough for the amount of knife to dollar you get. The only way you might be able to get an additional discount is if you bought in bulk.
Click on the button that says Exchange and scroll down to where you see knives for sale by dealers. 99% of the names highlighted in green will be able to help with the purchase. Good Luck.

Ever try Chestnutridgeknifeshop.com? They have superb prices, just the only shipping they have is $9.00. Still lowest price on Esee I have seen so far.

As boldly noted above. New Graham. Outstanding folks to deal with.
Knifeworks is also well worth checking.

Just picked up

For 97 bucks shipped from chestnut sounds good to me

Ontario Rat is not the same as ESEE. ESEE was Rat Cutlery but is now called ESEE. Ontario Rat is a different company.

To be honest I don't see the need for a fixed blade. I especially don't like the idea of carrying one in a foreign country. A SAK and a machete will do everything needed and will be viewed as tools where an ESEE 5 is more of a weapon to most people. To each their own I guess.

I have an Ontario 18" machete, it's 20 yrs old. I have done stuff with it i had no business doing. Like chopping down a 12" tree. It just laughs at me. Once i sharpened it good, it shaves paper & hair. Best bang for the buck IMHO. Want to make it more versatile ? Get a Dremel tool & make a choil on it for smaller close-in work.

Think to be on the safe side I'll just be bringing the böker down to CR and pick up a few others down there like a machete
