I've been making a list of knives I'm considering buying, and would like some opinons.

Spyderco Tenacious vs Cold Steel Ti-lite (I'm leaning towards the Tenacious)

Spyderco Endura vs Kershaw JYD II (leaning towards the Endura)

Karshaw Lahar vs Fallkniven Nordic T8 (I don't know much about the Nordic T8, so I can't make much of a choice)

What would be your choices? I chose the knives based on price. Both the Tenacious and the Ti-lite are between $30-$40, both the Endura and the JYD II are between $40 and $50, and the Lahar and Nordic T8 are between $50 and $60.

Can't ring in on the tenacious but you would be hard pressed to find an endura owner with complaints. And those with complaints can very quickly have them addressed by spyderco's fine customer service department. I know of three guys just off the top of my head who've carried one for atleast ten years and even after buying multiple knives (from spyderco and different makers) since, will not replace it in their edc setup. Unless perhaps it's with a newer endura model. Two thumbs up:thumbup::thumbup:

Tenacious vs Ti-Lite - If you want a more versatile utility blade then it's no contest...Tenacious all the way. If you like Italian stiletto styling, the Ti-Lite is a solid knife. The large Ti-Lite I have has an excellent liner lock up, and the Aus8 steel came very sharp...and can be made a good deal sharper if you think that is really necessary.

Spyderco Endura vs Kershaw JD II - Both solid knives, but the Endura here for me. I like the blade styling and handling better, but that is just me.

Karshaw Lahar vs Fallkniven Nordic T8 - No contest...the Lahar. I have never handled the Nordic T8, but unless you have some pretty unique aesthetic preferences, the fact that the Lahar has waaaay cooler styling should be enough to solidify my decision. :)

Alright, well, in the $30 to $40 I've chosen the Spyderco Tenacious, but I just realized I hadn't thought about the Kershaw Needs Work. Between the Tenacious and the Needs Work, what would be your choice?

I haven't handled a Tenacious, but it looks like a great knife. I like it's straightforward design, size, and G10 Scales. I do, on the other hand own a Needs Work (NW), and I like it a lot, but it does have qualities that keep it from being my primary EDC. The NW scales just don't feel right to me, they're too "plasticy", and are a bit thick.

I have large mitts, and the NW is basically a three finger grip for me. That's why my NW is sitting in pieces on my desk, awaiting new scales of either Textured G10, Micarta, or Carbon Fiber.

The things I like about the NW are the Assisted Opening, and the Wharncliffe blade. Overall, the NW is a great knife for the price.

Well, if I were in your place, I'd buy both.
