Hey!

Since I plan on going out hiking and trekking around more I've been setting up a carry system and feel like a small hand hatchet would be very beneficial...that being said I have some designs I love but can't find so maybe some people know of something similar.
Feel free to suggest anything that fits the bill. I'm looking for something smaller, one handed operation is good but wouldn't mind something versatile with a little bit of a longer handle so that a two hand grip is possible.

Here's the styles/Designs I was kind of liking so far...

I asked that question [of myself] and told myself to concentrate less on aesthetics and more on function. Not saying those you posted are not functional...not in the slightest. With the exception to possibly your top pic, I fear that the overall size and thickness would lend to them being somewhat light, thus less useful for what you might be seeking. The top axe you posted has length, which would translate to speed and force in a strike. However, I'd think a "thin" blade might counteract that...

In fact, I wrestled with your very question for quite some time. I used to carry a small carpenter's hatchet but have settled on the CRKT Chogun T-Hawk. A friend of mine bought one and allowed me to give it a whirl. I think it's perfect for my needs. It's heavier than the standard hawks as seen by Cold Steel but just as sharp. Being that the handle is field-replaceable, you could fashion one longer to meet your two-handed possibility.
