looking for information...when i get back i want to get a blade made,no handle scales etc, just a blank, can someone recommend a maker/smith who`d do this for me,...i`ve looked at knife blanks all over the web, and they either aren't the right shape ,size, dimension, design,i`m after, quality seems questionable too. this will be a working knife for sure,i just have a really good design that i want to do myself for the handle(the art work) thanks in advance

of course i will pay.....,no hits ,so i thought id put it in

is this just something they don't generally do ? i appreciate the lead. but i doubt it will be what i`m after.

James Sponaugle or Jason B.Stout both accept designs, but I know their specialty is hollow grinds

JK knives (has his own subforum here) does custom orders -- email him the picture of your knife and see what he says it will cost.
Or go to his forum and start a thread asking about it -- he may even give you feedback on design elements.
Only thing, he works in O1 tool steel and as far as i know, that's it -- so if you want something "less boring", try someone else.
our other option would be to post in the new "services wanted" subforum.

good luck!

Check out Gene Martin, he has a whole bunch of blade shapes on his site, customknife.com. He is great to work with and can supply the rest of the materials you need as well.

ps can i buy a chunk of s30v or similar and use the stock removal method then send it away to get it heat ,processed,

You bet you can! Peters heat treat does exceptional work. I am guessing you are in canada though, so I think the makers up your way use knifemaker.ca maybe check out the new sub forums, services wanted and post up your design.
