Looking to add to my small collection, advice?

I just recently got my Swamprat RMD and I love it! It is exactly what I wanted. I am now in the market for a Busse, and am open to suggestions. I do have a price limit, so I am not looking for custom or anything like that. I am either looking for something smaller than the RMD (been browsing the Leaner Meaners on Knifehunters website..) or something larger that could be a better chopper than the RMD. Right now I'm leaning towards smaller but I can readily be convinced either way... ;)

I also want to know good sources to grab these quickly, as I am going to Australia in January for 2 years and knife buying will probably be put on hold for the duration of my stay there. So websites or individuals with good reputations would be appreciated. I will also browse the exchange but I don't have any feedback so that may take a bit more time as well.

Anyways I digress, help me choose a new knife (pics always welcome!) and help me find a place to acquire it sooner rather than later...

Thanks for all the help in advance!

Well on the large side I vote ashbm..its a huge tank of a knife but she's quite nimble for such a large knife..and a great price for the size comparatively speaking. Also 20th anniversary comes but once in a lifetime.

If you are in for a huge knife she won't disappoint.check out lennox in his chopping vid she bites deep. And it comes direct from busse took 3 weeks for mine to arrive and I'm in Canada so not bad.

Do you like anything currently being offered?

http://www.bussecombat.com/knives/

They can be a little flexible on payment allowing you to break the total up a bit while you wait, and they never charge until the knife is (about) ready to ship. This allows great payment flexibility.

I just know if they take up to 14 weeks I will be gone, I leave in January and then my family will get a hold of it first... I'm not sure they could resist the temptation of INFI...

I would prefer smaller right now. Unless someone comes up with a convincing argument to get me to go big

@ Need2know

I do like the mean street, but again, time is limited. Also it just seems just a TAD too small. Nothing they have on the site right now has that "Oh man gotta have!" feeling that the RMD had.

I think you are on the right track with the Leaner Meaner, just snag one off of Kniferhunters site and be happy.

Then again since you are using the RMD as a base, I assume you already know and love the knives from the Swamp and if that's the case don't over look the Rodent Solution. It is a freaking awesome little knife, I personally find it more comfortable in hand than the Meaner, AMS, or the AD.

Yep, if you see something you like on Trevor's site, it's buy it and be happy.

Direct orders with Busse Combat placed now have a high probability of being completed before January (Custon Shop and custom requests excluded).

Give the Leaner Meaner a try!
I got this from Trevor's site and I LOVE it!!
It's bigger than the AMS (got a couple of the AMSMO's in the last Gannza) and I look for excuses to carry it!

Plus, if you don't like it for some reason, you can sell it on the Exchange.

If you want something bigger immediately I saw some NMFSH's in the exchange.

If you wanna go REALLY BIG get an ASHBM or NMFBM. I don't have an NMFMB (yet :) ) But I do have an ASHBM:

Good luck with your search. Plus when you get to OZ you may want to look up some of the knife nuts that live there. They can help you feed the INFI addiction. On a side note. Bussekins can be shipped to OZ.

What is your budget? I'd definitely watch the exchange in here..now and when you get to Australia.

Buy before you get to Oz if possible. The exchange rate and shipping always adds to the cost for us down here. Can add $100 to the cost of a knife sometimes.

Chris.

Bring it with you....or have it shipped to yourself here... OR have it shipped to one of us and we will "take care of it for you" ... ;)

Where are you staying while here mate ??

I think I'll save a few weeks and look into rodent solution vs leaner meaner, or something of near size. I would like to carry this knife often. Thanks for the pics! Does anyone have any of the leaner meaner and RMD side by side? Or rodent solution?

I'll be in the Melbourne area! I'm doing a 2 year mission for my church so Ill be all over the area of about 500 miles across with Melbourne roughly center. So I could be all over:)

The budget is probably around 500. I don't feel quite comfortable spending more... I have the bug but I'm resisting hard. Preferably 300 or less, but with busse that's more difficult. What are some other smaller easy to carry fixed blades by busse and the swamp?

The CABS is amazing, but not for heavy abuse. A regular boss street would take that abuse, but the CABS is an awesome slicer.

Active Duty, Leaner Meaner, or Anniversary Mean Street are all great choices for what you are looking for. With your budget you should be able to get any of these. Good luck.

Garth

If you go combat grade it will also keep the cost down...just something to think about...and if you want you can later strip it.
