Hey folks I'm looking to buy a new folder, medium size preferably between 7"-9", no budget or maker restriction...

But the most important of all it has to be available now, no ebay hunt or pre-order please.

It will be an EDC piece but if anything shall come up I want the lockup to be solid enough to handle mild beating.

So far I'm eye-balling:

Benchmade 111SH20
G&G Hawk ROCK

Please throw me a bone, folks! Thanks!

Spyderco Gayle Bradley, maybe? It's a nice EDC knife, but also very durable with a bank vault lockup.

I have been loving my Tanto Crk LRG Sebenza, and my BM Mini Reflex bother are great edc's

I like that Gayle Bradley but it's made in Taiwan, I have nothing against that place but still prefer something that's made in the USA or at least Japan...

The Para 2 is looking pretty good but the site I usually order from is all sold out, know any good place to order one?

Gotta agree with the BM 940 series suggestion, I absolutely love mine. Also the ZT350, BM Nitrous Stryker, Spyderco Para 2 and BM 950 are also good knives that I own and could recommend.

Very nice recommendations, folks, thanks!

Now BM940
CRK Umnumzaan

And keep them coming!

The exchange is a good place to find a para 2. One or two often come up every couple of days or so.

Spyderco's folks in Taichung, Taiwan put together one helluva knife. World class, imo. My Sage is superb. If you let the "Made in Taiwan" bit fool you, you're missing out (at least as far as Spyderco is concerned.)

That pretty much sums it up. I try to buy American and Japanese knives over Taiwanese usually, but the fit and finish on my Taichung-made Gayle Bradley beats that of all my other knives.

Kershaw Titanium Tyrade, Kershaw Titanium Bump, ZT0300, ZT0400, mini-onslaught, bm mini rukus, bm 635, spyderco para2, spyderco manix 2...

I just recently got turned on to the Zero Tolerance knives. Picked up a 0200 but had some blade play issues and found it too big for EDC so ended up exchanging it at the store for the 0350 which I much prefer. I just ordered a G & G Hawk pocket clip for it.

The ZT 0551 is pretty "medium" to me. Though it hasn't seen much pocket time curiously. I think I have some sort of a compulsive need to have a $300+ folder clipped to my pocket. My light duty EDC is a Para2 in S90V and Carbon Fiber, and while that's available now on the 'bay, you'll be paying a hefty premium for one. And again, I'd classify it as light duty due to the carbon fiber(doesn't stop me from muscling it through thick cardboard though).

The Tim Galyean Pro Series Turbulence is also pretty sweet and should still be available at KnifeArt. Can't ask for much more than Titanium, flipper, and IKBS.

For the price though, I think the BM 581 Barrage is a good deal with M390 blade steel. Size is stretching it as medium. The length fits, but the handles are pretty beefy.

Thanks for all the recommendations!

I think I'll go ahead and get my first CRK, Umnumzaan it's just impossible to resist...

And thanks to all the great suggestions my to-buy list is getting longer than ever...damn you guys.
