I happen to think the logo khukuri is pretty easy on the eye.

But on the first Salyan prototype I'm with Uncle Bill. Butt-ugly. The comparison to a hippo that somebody made was right on.

Bill,
Doc, really, really wants one, read between the lines,he's panting, lusting for just such a K as a big "S"!make it a special order for Doc,say about 20"!hee!

Jim's having one of his days, fellas.

Smile a lot, don't make direct eye contact, and back away slowly.

Up close the Super Salyan _is_ butt ugly, but if you lean it against something so that you can see its profile and then back away about 30 feet it looks just like the one in the logo.
It's just a matter of perspective.

The SS is a real work horse for splitting wood but there are others that are prettier and do the job just as well!!!!
A Salyan about 12" long would be a really nice little khukuri IMO.

I like the broader blades as well.

Oh!!!!
And welcome to the Cantina Dean!!!
