Looking to buy first Kukri shopping Himalayan Imports

Any knowledgeable Kukri owners to help? I almost bought a 15" Defender from Khukri House in Nepal but seen reviews about heavey Tourest Kukris and the real Kukris from Tora and HI . Considering the Chiruwa Ang Khola 16" or the British Service Model at 15"
Whem I was checking out the various wed sites most say they make the real ones and there many good reviews . I don't want a tourist Kukri and willling to pay for a quality one . I have a Esee -4,Busse Combat 7 and Mission MPK-12 for smaller camp needs but need larger blade as a quality chopper ,tool.

I believe most kukris on HI site are great quality.

I have one from HI and happy.

The Himalayan Imports M-43 is the one I had before it went to a friend who had no knives and is likely the one I'll order again when the time is right. HI makes top-notch blades; you can't go wrong with any of them from what I've seen. They've got a good community here with lots of direct interaction from Yangdu ("Auntie") and Karda.

Between BAS and CAK? Hard call. I have both, and I like both.

I have a UBE (Tirtha), AK, SMTD (Rajkumar), & BAS (Tirtha); I had a CAK, and it was sweet, but alas, I passed it on to someone needier than I! I love the UBE, it's got great shape and functional.

All I can say, is HI is the only company to go to for a "true" kuk, and their customer service and business ethics are TOP NOTCH.

With either a BAS or CAK, you will not go wrong! Guaranteed!

I would recommend the CAK in 18". Since you have other blades for smaller chores, not to mention the karda that comes with the khukuri, get the size that will really let the chopping design excel

Oh No !! I ended up with a New Dui Chirra ! From Yangdu!! She Rocks!! now the waiting for Priority shipping. I hope it is not too pretty to use !!!!! If so I will have to buy another one . Are all the DC 's 23" in length or do they vary on the Kami? I will post pics when it arrives . Thanks for all the help!
