Anybody have any ideas where I might find one. Prefer '67-'72 but any silver snap would be good. Maybe someone has one lying around? Ebay only ever has the new Mexican made ones. Condition not that important. Just want silver snap that works.

I wish I could help you on your search. I think your only bet is to keep watching those online auctions. I have seen the older ones for sale but not that often.
Good luck! :)

I think most of us probably have one lying around - I know I have a couple...

But how do you tell the Mexican sheaths from whatever the others are??? My silver snap sheaths don't say...

Wow...Who would have guessed...Joe finally changed his location...

Is the world coming to an end??? :p

I went through my older stuff and came up with a couple. If Dave can't help let me know.

Dave has been very helpful. I response to chickentrax, I do not believe that any of the older silver snap sheaths would have been made in Mexico. I am referring to the new brass snap ones as seen on evil bay. The one I got to replace a recent 2005 110 sheath had a sticker that SAID Made in Mexico. There has been some discussion here about the leather. It is hard and I believe it is "bonded"? (I call it reconstituted). I can't find the original thread right now. The older ones are full grain leather. Thanks for the responses everyone.

Pretty cool how the Buck Brothers here help each other out. :)

Hmmm...I think I need a Waimea... ;)

Is Waimea related to Gretsnap and Pat Pending? ;)

I got to looking in my drawers, and have some of those old silver snappys.
But they all seem to have dirty old 110's in them.

Someone should put together a timeline history of sheaths. Found some ss three Buck in a circle, ss one line buck, a plain smooth faced ss snap with nothing on it and the 110 is stamped paralled with and on the belt loop instead of across the bottom. That one has a two line inverted in it. Even found a 112 with the one line ss Buck.

I would love to get one of the old silver snap sheaths with the wide belt loop and lower carry ,like the old 110's came with.I would trade a new leather or cordura for one if somebody has a spare.I had all my 110's stolen awhile back except for a couple i had sent into Joe for some work, and one i was carrying,I do have all the sheaths from every knife though,as i stored them in a differnt spot.If i can help anyone with a certain sheath just let me know!

DarrylS is a doctor...I'm sure he can help you out... :)

No doubt I could probably use his help. :p

You will be one of us olderndirt guys one of these days. Better keep his number handy.

:cool:...LMAO...I'm just the guy that gets to cut out those "snappys" that the doctor finds in folks "drawers"...If I was a "Doctor" I'd be tossing another log in my fireplace up in Idaho while kickin' back to a nice brewsky and polishing a Buck folding Kalinga...Lordy I do miss those seasons...Trax is tryin' as hard as he can to catch us in age Larry...He might be gaining on us too...;):D
