Kindly help me with the difference between the regular and classic. Are they the same width and size? For example, I have big hands and like a big handle and blade. Is there anything else I should consider?

Thanks....

If you compare the Classic with the regular, you will see that the Classic's handle is upswept slightly from pivot to lanyard. The regular handle is straight. When I hold the large Classic, the back of the handle that transitions from the upswept portion downward creates a sharp edge that digs into the fleshy part of my palm when I use it. I have medium-sized hands, so you will need to test for yourself.
The Classic's blade profile is slightly different than the regular as well; slightly narrower edge to spine, slightly less belly. It is not enough to have any significant functional difference, in my opinion. I will say that the Classic blade profile with the optional swedge looks particularly attractive.

I've found the large Classic's blade to be just a tad longer than that of the large regular Sebenza, and a bit pointier, too. I'm guessing that the Classic is also just the least bit heavier than the regular Sebenza. The measurements are not that different between the two models, but, to me, the Classic has a bigger feel to it.
They're both great, though. If you had to pick just one, you might prefer the Classic. Fortunately, however, we're rarely compelled to pick one, and only one, knife. So, get 'em both!

Ha! Not yet! Is the only place to buy through Chris Reeve's site or are there better deals on the Web?

If you're looking for a new Sebenza, there are many reputable webs sites that you can buy from, including One Stop Knife Shop , sponsor of these forums.

However, with a little patience, you can pick up used Sebenzas at good prices here at BF on the Knife Exchange forum.

Rick:

On the price list page of the CRK website. It lists the large classic and the large standard with a blade length of 3.625". I've never heard of a large Sebenza with a blade length of anything except 3.5". Some say the classic has a longer blade. In your pic they both look the same length.  ;)

Scott, I just measured my large regular and the blade is exactly 3.5 inches from handle to tip.

I also looked at the discription pages on Chris' site and they say 3.5 inches.

I think that is a typo mistake on the price list page.

Though it's hard to see in Rick's picture, the classic blade is just a little bit longer than that of the regular. I've never measured the difference, but it's easily seen if you compare the two knives, base of the blade to base of the blade.
