I've been reading up on INFI steel and it sounds like some pretty damn good stuff. I dig the Busse designs too, the handles look very comfortable and the patterns on them are very tasteful. I've been thinking about getting a smaller sized bowie type of knife, something between 5 and 8 inches blade length. I've already got an Ontario knife that fits the bill, but with how much positive feedback I've heard about this company I want to try one of their products first hand. I'm pretty tight on money though, so I was wondering what knives I should look at in INFI that were under 200$.

Thanks.

Under $200? Not many. Maybe a Skeleton Key. You never know though. Check the For Sale area.

Or also the Assault Shaker.

Keep checking the exchange.

What about Swamp Rat, aren't those a lower priced sub-company of Busse or something? Do any SR knives come in INFI?

Under $200? Just like Progunner said, that won't buy you much in the way of INFI. If you want to go up to around $300, the Hell Razor may be just right based on the size you said you wanted, and you won't be disappointed with it. They are for sale right now through the company store, but once they come off the site, no saying when or if there will be more.

Forget the $200 limit. Beg, borrow or steal and buy a Hell Razor while you still can. They may be gone soon and a lot of us HR owners will tell you now, you will be sorry.

It looks like a fantastic knife. I wouldn't exactly be opposed to barrowing one. 8)

Time to start putting some change aside. :D

Welcome Vivi, if you want Infi you may have to pony up a few extra bucks but believe me it's well worth it! Good luck with your quest.

While many models sold originally for under $200, finding one now that the secondary market dictates price might be a bit rough.

The ones that originally sold for $200 or under were (in black/black versions):

Public Defender $197
Active Duty $187
Groove Master $197
Badger Attack 3 $197
Assault Shaker $117
Skeleton Key $117??

If it were me, I'd watch the forums, save $$, and look around for what could become trade fodder in your own collection.

Good luck, and welcome to the forums Vivi.

Mike

As Book-em says, you really oughta spend an extra $100 and get a Hell Razor, but sheath is extra. It's an excellent knife, and I think an exceptional design and you can have it in your hands in 2 to 3 days if you're in the States. Supplemented with a smaller folder, it could well be the only knife you really "need (this month)."

There are a very limited number of Bandicoot's out there that were made form INFI, but that is it and they are trading for over $200 as I recall.

Thanks for the information everyone. I think I'll save up and plunk some change down when I've got a few bills to spare.

Good choice, don't hesitate too long to get one because you never know how long the HR will be at the company store!

Vivi, I've got to go one farther than what these guys are telling you. You are about to make the same mistake I made when I first decided to get a Busse- don't wait! If you like the Hell Razor, do what you need to to get it now!

Ever since I got my FSH, I've wanted a smaller Busse. The Mean Streets were on the company store back then and I could've had one, but having just spent almost $400 (my previous knife high was $105) I was in too much shock. I still want an Active Duty, but nobody parts with them, and when they do, they go for MUCH more than the price shown above.

The best motto seems to be "Get it- if you don't like it you can sell it for at least what you paid for it". Good Luck- you will love your Busse knives!

PS. If the HR doesn't appeal to you, save up while you wait to see what comes up next on the main site.

Excellent advice and a very good way to look at it.

Oink!

Mate if I were you I would take the plunge and grab a Hell Razor while you still can. I remember looking at the SFNO's for $287 and thinking how nice they were, but I couldn't justify the price. Well my craving for one is still there, but getting one for under$500 looks impossible..

P.s. The Hell Razor is much better in the hand than in the pics..

Or do what I do and buy 13 at a time.
You can never have too many.
