Hello,
I am interested in having a couple non-knife items acid washed to match, but as I couldn't find much information on having it done online, I decided to ask here.
The two items I want acid washed are the Quantum D2 light from Veleno Designs (http://www.velenodesigns.com/?p=168) and the Douglas Field Lighter (http://www.bladehq.com/item--Douglass-Field-S-Tokyo-Pipe-Lighter--22705).
I talked to someone at Veleno designs, who said the following about acid washing the light:
"We did a batch before that was tumbled in a vibratory grinder with steel pins fully assembled to avoid damage to the threads.
20 minute cycle in about a foot of water/polishing chemicals.
The lens is sapphire and will stand up to the steel pins but ceramic medium will most likely damage it.
O-rings are viton and will stand up to chemicals."
With this in mind, can anyone recommend someone for these modifications?
Thanks, Ivan
