A tourista grade Burmese/Thai dharb/dha. A decorative item possibly from when on leave during the Vietnam War era. The guard most likely aluminum from scrap. The blade may or may not have been heat treated. The wood either rosewood or a mahogany. Many are not as intricately carved, especially the handle on yours. A nice decorator. Look to when it came into the family.
