Yesterday, I was browsing in the local Brick & Mortar and noticed they had a few Kershaw Leeks in the display case. I've never handled one before, so I asked to see it: I instantly liked the size, weight, blade-shape, and super-keen factory edge. It looked like it could be a cool little gentleman's EDC. The guy at the shop said he'd give me $10 off the price on top of my usual 10% discount-and-points perk, so I decided I'd give it a go. I left with a brand new 1660CKT Leek.
Well, I got it home and started playing with it. I then noticed it has no ball-detent. Since I don't want to be constantly messing with the safety, I decided to move the clip for tip-up carry to add a little more security. Then I noticed that the clip suffered the same issues as my former Blur: super tight and could not easily be seated to the top of the clip... the knife is about 4" closed, and damn near half of the handle was sticking out of the pocket. So, I took the clip off again and bent it out a little. The knife now seats in the pocket to the top of the clip, and only a mere 1 1/4" protrudes...
Please help me feel the love for the Kershaw Leek! I'm sure there must be a few fans out there somewhere.
I still think the Leek is a handsome little folder, but the jury's still out on whether or not it's a keeper...
