I have a 12ga Benelli Supernova with the 18.5 inch barrell (straight sights) and the traditional shoulder stock.

I want to pimp it but every time I try to look into options my eyes start to glaze over. there seems to be so much crap out there.

I'm looking for recommendations on sights, lights, and other gizmos.

I'd like to try to keep the total upgrade cost @ around 1K, so holographic sights are out.

I've found the mag extension. However, I'm unsure if I can get away with anything larger that +2. technically I should though it may look a little strange with the short barrel (I do not care). Has anybody tried this?

I'm not particularly interested in changing up to a thumbhole/pistol grip stock. I am curious about some of the recoil dampers, such as the mercury device.

thanks

My recommendation is to visit some gun shops in your area and see what tweaked out shotties they have. I know in AZ the gun shops will have several models with ghost ring sights, side saddles and some other mods. This makes it easier for the customer to get what they want and not have to do a thing. For the price you are willing to spend, you could easily sell your shotty and pool the money to buy something already pimped out.

You could also check to see if there are any gun shows near by, that is what most folks do around here. Good Luck.

I'm more of a 870 guy. But I recommend ghost rings and a light. On my 870 the only things I put on it are a Butler Creek forend, a fiber optic rifle site, a Knoxx Compstock and a SS Brownells follower. (It already had the 2 round tube extension.)

Don't put anything on it other than a side saddle for extra shells. Instead send it to Hans Vang to get the barrel worked on and new sights put on.

All you will ever need.

Can you elaborate on "getting the barrel worked on," lumpy?

Here is his site:

Many that I respect recommended Vangs work. Sent in my Mossberg and have been very happy with the result. Does it reduce the felt recoil like it claims? Maybe. Firing slugs still hurts after the first 10 or so. Accuracy for me has impoved lots, be it the sights or the barrel work or a combination of the two.

Really great work. Cody there was a nice guy to work with.
