I'm looking to purchase a Buster Warenski dagger. Not sure what the market is in terms of price, and any information that you may have would be greatly
appreciated, as would leads on availabe knives. Thanks

I just photographed this one for www.knifelegends.com.

Rare indeed. It's still in my posession.... ;) :D

It's not even listed. You'd better send an email inquiry. I have NO idea of the cost.

Coop:

I spoke with Paul about this knife-price is $5850-but as I said I realy don't know what the current Warenski dagger price range is. Any information woud be appreciated.

I assume you know that Buster passed away last July 31, 2005. Any Warenski knives would be from his wife Julie or the secondary market, I believe.

Peter,

You need to educate yourself in values. Call and email any and all dealers and see what is available out there. Only then can you assess what you are willing to pay and what is 'correct'. For you.

Frankly, that is less than I would have thought. I give it a few days at this price. I may be wrong.

It's very hard to find comps-I've tried! Not many knives are avaiable on the secondary market. I've asked Paul to hold it for me. Thanks for your input.

Peter, I didn't mean to sound condescending at all. Before you plunk down that kind of cash, you NEED to know if this is right for you. The only way you will find out is inquiries and some research.

Yes, it's hard.

Don't tell me you're bored with those 12 Bojtos knives already? ;) That dagger is gorgeous!

Holger:

Only have the first of the 12-get the second at Blade next year and then one every year until I have all 12.

The comps will be practically impossible to find, sorry.

The price from KnifeLegends is really fair. For a Warenski dagger, you have to roll the dice, this would be a very nice example of Busters' work.

Joss:
That AKI dagger of Don's had a price of $3500.00 and it has been sold. It's this disparity in prices that has me looking for comps and/or others for sale or trade.

Don't let that AKI piece at *$3500* give you false assumptions. That piece is easily worth $7000+ now, if not more. Like Joss allowed, we don't know how old the listing is and how quickly it sold. Or if there is a defect. It sure didn't go for that amount at the AKI!!!

Peter,

I want to see that one. I will meet you at Arpad's table next June, OK? (Arpad and I had arranged to chat for a while at Blade last month about promotion, marketing, etc. and we never got the chance. He seems like a very nice, genuine man. His artistry amazes me.)

I'll be there! Are you coming to Ed Wormsers Chicago show in Sept.? If so I'll bring the first knife-if you haven't seen it up close.

Yea, that price shocked me when I saw it. No idea why it sold for so cheap.

Haven't missed one yet! ;)

pretty sure there was one in the last AG Russells "Cutting edge" flyer I got last week.

I threw it out already though..

Yup, that was a 'simple' skinning knife with no scales whatsoever. Just a profile and blade bevels ground. It was listed at $895.00
