I really like the looks of the Crooked River with the Dymondwood scales. Amazon has it fir $193, but I'd rather purchase from smkw or Blade HQ but they're both asking around $225.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

OK, I went with DLT. Thanks for the recommendation.
Hopefully the wait is not too long. The web site said some of their employees are staying home, but they have enough people to fill orders.

Where do you live, did you look and see if any local dealers had it in stock? I don't ever buy online mainly due to the fact I have found local dealers that will do up to 30% off.

I live about 30 minutes sw of Springfield MO. I usually buy knives from Shepherd Hills Cutlery either the Branson MO or Cuba MO store, but both are over an hour drive. They sell Case, Buck and a few Benchmades
But I just didn't feel like making the drive and if I did the wife would tag along and she can't know how much that knife costs.

Haha! My wife knows I have a case full of knives, we don't discuss the costs though! The crooked river is a bit pricey, I found one on ebay for 150, and yes it was authentic. It had no box (not a big deal) but an oversharpened blade and cracked scale. After checking it and making sure it was real, I sent it to benchmade and they fixed it up good as new.

Some people complain about the butterfly tax, but I think it's worth it for the customer service. I liked the crooked river so much I ordered a custom crooked river. And got a mini... And a custom mini...

You will love it.

That is pretty good warranty service. I'm too skeptical to buy used like that, bit now you basically have a brand new knife for 150.
If I brought my wife along at some point I'd hear " Let's just go to Wal Mart they must have better prices"

I knew that if it was a fake I could return it and get a refund. I was willing to take the risk, and other than not having a box it's a fine knife! And now that I know how good benchmades service is I'm not afraid at all to use them.

And The Mart can be a plus... Cheapest buck 110 prices around! I picked one up (35 bucks!) to have in the collection. Also a buck 110lt for 20.

Yeah, everyone should have a 110 in their collection. I have a 110 and a 112. My next was going to be the 110 slim pro, but then I came across this crooked river and had to have it. It actually reminds me of a 110, just Benchmade's interpretation of the folding hunter.

That's the way I saw it. Modern interpretation of the classic. Actually waiting on a custom 110...wish they had the slims on the customizer. I like my slim 110 and 112, but would love to have some options!

Benchmade has a pretty tight lip on what the knife industry calls MAP. Going with a site that has a point system can be helpful in the long run.

It just showed up!! Nice knife. Great service from DLT.

Looks good! How's the action? When new most of my Benchmades need adjustment and break in. Couple of days of playing with them and I'll take the blade out, clean everything up and relube with kpl and it's good to go. My crooked rivers are guillotines, and have no doubt they'd cut to the bone if you got a finger in the way on closing... Lol

I think the action is nice, it opens pretty effortlessly with the thumb studs, but it doesn't 'drop" shut like how a lot of people like, but that's good as far as I'm concerned. It is bigger in the hand than I expected, but smaller in the pocket than I expected.

They are large knives. Someone told me one time I would probably want the mini because the full size is huge. I told him that's why I wanted it! But I got the set... The mini is a little "friendlier" around most people ;) but imo the full size just can't be beat!
