Hey all!
This is my first post here :)
So about a year ago I bought a USMC straight edge kabar, first impression was that its a solid knife yet it wasnt nearly sharp enough to use it for the reason i got it which was hunting/trail knife, and after seeing as how I didn't know how to sharpen much harder steel like the 1095 this kabar uses, I sort of just ignored it for all this time. Well I recently moved and it showed up again, so I've decided to turn it into my favorite knife, so where better to look to for help than a forum about knives :) . What I have in mind are three major things.

First I want to sharpen it to near razor sharpness as to keep it tough and sharp enough to do what I need it to do, so how can I get it to that along the first bevel, Ive just recently bought an acusharp, a Arkansas stone, and a medium stone. So what all do I do with the to archive the edge I need?

Second step I had in mind was to partially strip off that black finish, and by partially I mean I want to take off the black finish up to about a third of the secondary bevel then I want to strip a hamon patten up to about the halfway point of the secondary bevel. I know I know, this is just goofy, but I thought it would look cool if I can do it right, so I would also need some advice on how I can achieve this as well :)

And lastly I want to get a shiny polish on the un black finished area ive made at that point. I don't want a mirror polish, just a nice attractive shine. So some tips on how to do this would be AWSOME as well.

Sorry for the long post and so many questions and requests for help, I just really want to make this my favorite blade :D Any help is appreciated!!!

Thanks all
